Questions, answered plainly.

HQ is new. If something here doesn't match what you see, tell us on X.

(1)Is HQ free?

The download is free. The agents run on your own Claude or ChatGPT subscription, so what you pay is the plan you already have. HQ doesn't sell usage and doesn't ask for API keys.

(2)How finished is it?

It's an early release. HQ-52 has been built and tested on one Windows 11 PC so far, so expect rough edges on other setups. If something breaks, tell us on X.

(3)Does it run on Mac or Linux?

No. HQ runs on Windows 10 and 11 only.

(4)Why does Windows warn me about install.cmd?

HQ isn't code-signed yet, so Windows SmartScreen shows "Windows protected your PC" for a new download. Click More info, then Run anyway. To make sure the zip is the one we published, compare its SHA-256 with the one on the download page first.

(5)Which subscriptions work?

Claude Pro or Max through Claude Code, and ChatGPT Plus or Pro through Codex. You can connect several accounts; more accounts let more agents work at the same time. ChatGPT agents use your ChatGPT plan, not your Claude limits.

(6)What happens when an account hits its limit?

HQ reads each account's 5-hour and weekly usage every 2 minutes and after every turn. When an agent's account passes 85%, HQ moves that agent to the least-used account and it keeps its conversation. If every account is full, the work waits and starts again after the reset.

(7)Where do my files live?

HQ itself is in %LOCALAPPDATA%\Programs\HQ and keeps its settings in the data folder there. Your projects go to the projects folder you pick during setup, HQ Projects in your user folder by default.

(8)How do I update?

Download the new zip from this site and run its install.cmd. It copies the new HQ over the old one and keeps your data folder. Developers can read the current version, size and SHA-256 from /download/latest.json.

(9)How do I uninstall?

There's no uninstaller yet. Close HQ, delete %LOCALAPPDATA%\Programs\HQ (this removes its settings too), and delete the HQ shortcuts from your Desktop and Start Menu. Your projects folder stays until you delete it yourself. Node.js, Claude Code and Codex stay installed; remove them from Windows Settings if you don't need them.

(10)The installer says Node.js is missing.

The installer uses winget to add Node.js LTS. If winget isn't on your PC or the install fails, get the LTS version from nodejs.org, then run install.cmd again.

(11)An agent stopped or looks stuck.

After a network error HQ retries on its own after 1, 2, 5, 10 and 15 minutes. You can also press Stop, then Retry on that agent's pane, or send it a message: Enter reaches a working agent at its next step. If its account is full, it waits for the reset; the Usage tab shows when that is.

(12)Roblox agents can't reach Studio.

Check that Roblox Studio is installed and that Enable Studio as MCP server is on: in Studio, Assistant → … → Manage MCP Servers. If the game doesn't save player data, turn on Enable Studio Access to API Services under Game Settings → Security.

(13)Is HQ made by Anthropic or OpenAI?

No. HQ is an independent project that runs their official command-line tools, Claude Code and Codex, on accounts you sign in to yourself.
